Isotretinoin attacks the very root of acne and this is what makes it so effective. It is done in two ways.
• Firstly Isotretinoin decreases the size and sebum output of the oil glands, and by doing this it actually starves P. acnes bacteria by cutting off its food source.
• It encourages normal shedding off of dead keratinized epidermal cells in your hair follicles, which unclogs the pores and prevents the forming of whiteheads and blackheads.
Accutane and Roaccutane are the common names for Isotretinoin in United States and Worldwide respectively. But besides these two names it also is available in market under several generic brands. Isotretinoin is available in both the forms oral and topical acne treatment preparations in UK, Europe, Australia and Canada.
