One can experince the following experiences during Isotretinoin treatment, but there is nothing to worry about as these side effects disappears once the isotretinoin treatment is stopped.
• Bleeding gums, dry skin and mouth, chapped lips
• Increase in triglycerides and blood cholesterol
• Inflammation of the white of the eye (conjunctiva)
• Epistaxis (nosebleeds)
• Muscle and joint pains
• Vision change such as reduced night vision
• Psychiatric problems, hallucinations, suicidal behavior
• Can cause fetal deformity
Some rare Isotretinoin side effects can cause skin rashes, photosensitivity, hepatitis, excessive skin peeling and hearing problems. Some other side effects include brain swelling, nausea, accompanied by headache and vision problems.
