1) Accutane only is disadvantageous due to its primary potential side effects, and as per the Food and Drug Authority (FDA), even though the drug has brought happiness for several patients; it can still be source of utmost grief for some.

2) Generally miscarriages has been reported for the use of Accutane, and it occurs mainly between first few weeks of conception to seven months of gestation. Also in case of pregnant women severe birth defects has been reported after the continuation of the Accutane regime by pregnant mother.

3) Some other side effects of Accutane includes structural damages of various organs such as liver, intestines (both small and large), vision loss hearing impairment and cysts. Now as these defects are often undetectable – it occurs to those who are not regular with their visit to their GPs for regular checkups.

4) Development of different psychiatric illness in the users is yet another disturbing side effect of Accutane. Several cases of schizophrenia and psychoses have been reported in the users of Accutane and all those in ages were between 17 to 25. This problem manifests equally in women and men both.

5) The last side effect is really scary, because several reports have provided the documented proof that it has driven the users to suicidal situations and some of them have succeeded as well.
